Your Uganda eVisa starts with the right documents. Use this checklist to make sure you’re fully prepared before applying.

Basic Documents Required for Uganda eVisa

These documents are required for all Uganda eVisa applications, regardless of eVisa type.

Passport Bio-Page

  • Clear, high-quality scan with all details visible
  • The MRZ code must be fully readable
  • No glare, blur, or cropped edges

Digital Photo

Sample of Applicant’s Photo
  • Recent photo with full face clearly visible
  • Neutral expression, no shadows or glare
  • Plain background, no face obstructions

General Requirement for Single-Entry eVisa

The following document is required if applying for a single-entry tourist eVisa or East Africa tourist eVisa.

Return Tickets

  • Upload proof of confirmed return or onward travel
  • Travel dates and passenger details must be clearly visible
  • Must match your planned entry and exit dates

Documents Required for Multiple Entry eVisas

When applying for the Uganda eVisa with multiple entries, applicants will need to submit the following documents:

Cover Letter

(From Applicant)

  • Explains the purpose and need for multiple visits
  • Includes travel details and intended stay duration
  • Must be signed by the applicant

Recommendation Letter

(From Ugandan Citizen/Resident)

Sample of Recommendation Letter
  • Issued by a Ugandan citizen or resident
  • Confirms purpose and supports multiple-entry request
  • Includes contact details and signature of the host

Valid Police Clearance

Sample of Police Clearance Certificate
  • Must be an official and recently issued police clearance certificate.
  • Must confirm that the applicant has no relevant criminal record.
  • Issued by Interpol or the competent authority in the applicant’s country of residence.

Proof of Entries & Exits into Uganda

  • Records of previous travel in and out of Uganda
  • You can upload either visa stamps, permits, or travel history
  • Must be clear and verifiable

Note: First-time visitors to Uganda cannot apply for a multiple-entry eVisa.
