Types of Uganda eVisa
Citizens from eligible countries for Uganda eVisa can choose between the following eVisa types, depending on their visit purpose, at the time of application:
Transit eVisa
An option for those who have a layover in Uganda on the way to their next destination.
Entry Type: Single Entry
Validity: 90 Days from the issue date
Stay Duration: Up to 7 days after arrival
Tourist eVisa
For travellers who are planning to visit Uganda for tourism, leisure, and sightseeing purposes.
Entry Type: Single and Multiple Entries
Validity: 180 days, 365 days, and 730 days
Stay Duration: Up to 90 days
Other eVisa
Suitable for travellers visiting Uganda for purposes such as medical treatment, visiting a family member, returning as a resident/citizen, and more.
Entry Type: Available in Single and Multiple Entries
Validity: Choose between 180, 365, or 730 days validity period
Stay Duration: Up to 90 days
East Africa Tourist eVisa
A unified visa which allows you to cover Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya with just a single approval. The only condition is you must arrive in Uganda first before visiting other countries.
Entry Type: Multiple Entries
Validity: 180 days from the date of issue
Stay Duration: Up to 90 days
Conference eVisa
Allows you to visit Uganda to attend conferences and other professional events. Taking up any kind of employment or paid work during your visit is prohibited.
Entry Type: Angle and Multiple Entry Options
Validity: 180, 365, and 730 days validity
Stay Duration: Permitted stay of up to 90 days
Requirements for Uganda eVisa Application
The following documents are the common requirements for all Uganda eVisa types, all applicants must submit:
- Scan of their Passport Biopage: It must be clear with all edges and the MRZ code visible. The passport must remain valid for 6 months after arrival in Uganda.
- A Recent Digital Photo: The photo must show their face from forehead to chin. Take the photo on a plain white background.

Upload the required documents and pay the Uganda eVisa fee securely via accepted payment options.

Check your registered email ID for the application updates. The approved Uganda eVisa will be sent to the same email address.

Extensions for Uganda eVisa
An extension for your selected Uganda eVisa type may be available. To check if an extension is available, visit the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control (NCIC) headquarters in Kampala or any other immigration office (regional) in Uganda before your current stay expires.
